Visit the Kittitas County Historical Museum
Location:
The Kittitas County Historical Museum is located in historic Downtown Ellensburg.
The lovely city was platted in 1875 at the intersection of two major trading routes and still remains today within access of major highways – I-90, US Hwy 97, and I-82.
With a variety of stores and restaurants, and numerous events and activities happening at Central Washington University and other cultural destinations in Kittitas County, our community offers quite the visitor experience.

Museum Parking
Parking is only available on nearby public streets in front of and near the Museum for 3 hours Monday-Saturday. Parking is regularly enforced by the City of Ellensburg Police Department.
Tenant Parking
Off-street parking is only available for Cadwell Apartments tenants. These reserved parking spaces are located immediately adjacent to the Museum.
Bags, Food & Drink:
Please leave bags, food, and drinks at the front desk while exploring the Museum. This helps us protect the exhibits and collections. Thank you for your understanding!

Personal photography and video are welcome! Please do not use flash, follow all posted “no photography” signs, and be respectful of other visitors.

Group Tours
Groups are encouraged to visit and conduct a self-guided tour through all the wonderful exhibits on display in the Museum. Groups wishing for a staff welcome and introduction to the Museum before their tour should contact us in advance of their planned arrival.
Groups interested in a guided tour experience through the Museum exhibits, they should visit our Field Trips page to learn more about the different opportunities available.
If groups are interested in Downtown Walking Tours, there are two options to choose from: Self-Guided Walking Tours and Guided Walking Tours. Please visit each respective page to learn more about these opportunities.

Our Museum is a great place to bring the family, learn about local history, and share stories! We offer scavenger hunts, hands-on (touch) items, educational opportunities, and many ways to get engaged with local history. We also have a changing station in our public restroom.
