About The Event

The Stories We Share is a community fundraiser supporting the Kittitas County Historical Society’s work to collect, preserve, and share the history, heritage, and culture of Kittitas County. Taking place on Saturday, July 18, 2026, the event brings together community members, local businesses, and supporters for an evening of connection, shared history, and stewardship.

The evening includes dinner, a silent auction with memorable items and experiences, and a festive Dessert Dash highlighting local support. Proceeds from the event support collections care, educational programming, and the continued stewardship of the historic Cadwell Building.

Why This Fundraiser Matters

Your support helps keep the Museum strong and accessible—so we can care for collections, create inspiring exhibits, offer meaningful programs, and welcome the community into a space where everyone belongs. It’s how we keep “remember when…?” moments safe, shareable, and alive for the next generation.

  • Because old photos, quirky artifacts, and hometown legends deserve a safe home.
  • Because our stories are worth telling—and retelling.
  • Because history enriches our community and deserves to be preserved.

Support beyond attending

There are many ways to support The Stories We Share beyond attending the event. Community members and businesses may choose to participate through event sponsorship, donating an item or experience for the silent auction, or making a financial or in-kind contribution in support of the Museum’s work year-round.

Every form of support helps care for collections, create exhibits, offer educational programs, and preserve the Cadwell Building for future generations.

Our Mission

The Kittitas County Historical Museum exists to collect and preserve materials that help establish, illustrate, and educate about our county’s history, heritage, and culture—and to make that history accessible through exhibits, interpretation, and community learning.
