Military Room

Permanent Exhibits

Our Museum is honored to have in its collection and on display many items from individuals who served our country and have been a part of Kittitas County. These items include uniforms, medals, letters, photographs, souvenirs, and more.

Our Military Room itself is a dedicated permanent exhibition of many of these items, and honors many of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. It also tells many individual stories and snapshots of local life in the service.

Within the Military Room are displays that span service from the U.S. Civil War through present-day conflicts, while larger items include both an airport beacon that was installed at the Ellensburg Air Base (now Bowers Field) during World War II and a 1945 Willy’s Jeep that had been used locally. Other displays focus on civil service, community support, and much more.

Please note that displays change frequently to enable the many items to be displayed as well as the items to be properly preserved. If there is something you are very interested in seeing, please fill out a research request and we will make a special appointment for you to see the item. If you are interested in donating an item for inclusion in our collection or for display, please contact us.
