We invite students to intern at the Kittitas County Historical Museum. 

Students from local high schools, colleges, universities, trade schools, and other non-traditional learning experiences are welcome to apply for an internship, whether for academic credit (or hours) or as a volunteer position for career and/or skill-building experience at a level above a traditional volunteer position.

Each internship is developed as a prearranged, structured learning experience and usually scheduled within a specific time frame (such as an academic quarter). 

The internship experience must be relevant to the intern’s academic and professional goals, and must meet the mission and goals of our Museum.

Each internship is performed under the direct supervision of Museum Staff and through coordination with an academic advisor at the respective school. Interns primarily work on individual projects with limited team experiences.

Students will have the opportunity during their internship to gain a variety of skills, including museum best standards and practices. 

With our Museum being a small museum, there are opportunities to gain experience on specific interests as well as explore additional opportunities in areas like museum collections care, exhibit design, education, programs, public outreach, and much more.

Please note that at this time, our internships are unpaid unless expressly noted otherwise.
