RESEARCH REQUEST
The Kittitas County Historical Museum holds thousands of artifacts and archival records in its collections, and regularly assists in queries for information and research.
We enjoy helping people with their research projects. Our mission is to collect and preserve materials, which may help establish, illustrate, and educate about the history of Kittitas County. We are passionate about providing accessibility to all who wish to examine or study it, as well as to disseminate historical information and arouse interest in Kittitas County history through exhibit and interpretation.
It is through helping individuals with their research that we are both able to learn and collect more about Kittitas County’s history, heritage, and culture as an institution, but also share it and get more individuals excited in learning local history.
Dedicated volunteers and staff members assist in compiling information for the requestor, going through available resources here at the Museum as well as through local repositories and online resources.
We are also seeking more volunteers to help process the research requests. Click here to find out more about volunteering and to apply.
We are currently unable to accept any new research requests until further notice.
At this time, we have a backlog of over 200 research requests that we are working to answer.
If you have an urgent research request, we may be able to help. Please contact us with your request and need-by date.
